School Readiness: Closing Racial and Ethnic Gaps

Achievement gaps among school-aged children have received a lot of attention, but sizable racial and ethnic gaps exist even by the time children enter kindergarten. A new study from The Future of Children examines how to close the gaps in educational outcomes by focusing on children’s lives before they get to school. The report is available at http://www.futureofchildren.org/pubs-info2825/pubs-info.htm?doc_id=255946
